Our History

Montes HealthCare College (MHCC) began as the vision of Doctors Juan and Alejandro Montes. Shortly after starting their medical practices, the Montes brothers realized that teamwork is the cornerstone of any medical center. Overcoming sickness is not easy, and people often struggle when going at it alone. 

However, thanks to the highly qualified medical assistants at their sides, the doctors have been able to deliver quality care to thousands of people over the course of their long careers. With their help, the Montes doctors have been able to grow their first practice into three additional locations, employ more than 10 on-staff clinicians and 50 medical assistants, and enroll more than 15,000 managed care patients.

The lesson of having an excellent staff of medical assistants and billing specialists has been both humbling and immensely valuable. Thanks to their staff, the Montes doctors have been awarded the time to focus their efforts on supporting their communities in a different way. In 2015, they began to develop a formal medical assistant training program in Gardena, California.

The project steadily grew until, in 2016, Montes HealthCare College finally opened its doors, welcoming adults of all ages to a vocational program guided by the principles of cooperation, education, and community care. Doctors Juan and Alejandro Montes are excited to join you in celebrating the next step in your professional journey!
